Formerly known as Chronister Tool Engineering, CTE was founded in 1977 by Richard Chronister at its present location in York, Pennsylvania. The company was successful and grew as a result of its ability to attract and retain quality employees as well as its constant emphasis on engineering.

Richard and his family owned and operated CTE until his retirement in 1998, when CTE became a member of the Composidie family.

Today, CTE Inc. is a full-service manufacturing organization made up of skilled and dedicated employees utilizing the latest in equipment and technology structured to enhance quality, agility, responsiveness and speed.

CTE is a leader in the production of steel and carbide dies for the stamping industry with extensive experience and expertise in the automotive, electronic, connector, medical, semiconductor and telecommunications industries.

Parent company Composidie has been in business designing and building progressive carbide stamping dies since 1971. The company has grown through expansion and acquisition and now boasts varied capabilities in die design and extensive manufacturing facilities serving many diverse markets.
